Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is honored to be part of season’s first harvest in The White House Kitchen Garden with First Lady Michelle Obama today. Amina Abdulkadir and Lilah Monroe were chosen to represent the Garden and Let’s Move Museums & Gardens nationwide.
Both Amina & Lilah have attended the Garden’s Green Adventures Summer Camps where they participated in activities including planting, harvesting and eating fresh veggies. Each year, nearly 12,000 children visit the Garden for educational programs, with nearly one-third of those from low to moderate income households who participate for free.
