A holiday tradition featuring one million twinkling lights, handcrafted botanical decorations, model trains, holiday dinners, firepit with s’mores and hot chocolate (for purchase); nightly family activities & more. The region’s ultimate holiday extravaganza!

GardenFest opens a week early, on November 22.  Plus, Member Nights have been expanded to include ALL nights in November and January. Garden Members can visit Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights for free any night November 22-30, 2019 and January 1-6, 2020. Please note we are closed Thanksgiving (Nov. 28), December 24 & 25.

This year’s theme is “Magic in the Air” and guests will enjoy all manner of items that move through the air, from natural wonders (birds and butterflies), to man-made inventions (kites and airplanes) to fanciful creatures (dragons, unicorns and flying pigs!). In this year commemorating the first manned mission to land on the Moon, there will even be rocket ships and an astronaut.

GardenFest is a “rain or shine” event; only closed for extreme weather. Pre-purchased tickets allow visitors to use Prepurchased Ticket entry on select nights for people who have tickets on their phone or in hand for all in their party. This entry will be open on nights with anticipated high visitation (Fridays, Saturdays and the week before and after Christmas). Tickets are not date-specific and may also be purchased at the Garden (9 a.m. – 10 p.m.) In order to accommodate groups and guests arriving early for GardenFest, we begin charging GardenFest admission at 4 p.m.  See the menu (PDF) for Espresso A-Go-Go — hot chocolate, s’mores and more.
