The Garden’s plant sales are among the largest in the region with more than 40 vendors selling plants ranging from well-known favorites to rare exotics. This year, there’s live music, a festive atmosphere and the chance to meet your extension agent and ask questions. Presented by Garden volunteers.

Mother’s Day Weekend
May 11, 12 & 13, 2018

A three-day weekend with many opportunities to honor and spend time with mom. Enjoy the popular Butterflies LIVE! exhibit, shopping and dining, plus these activities:
The long weekend kicks off Friday, May 11 with National Public Gardens Day (more info below).
On Saturday, May 12, treat your mom to an experience she’ll love, give her a tour of A Million Blooms.
Sunday, May 13 is the popular Mother’s Day concert (1 – 4 p.m.). Food available for purchase in front of Bloemendaal House. Guests are also welcome to bring blankets or lawn chairs but no outside food or beverage. Activities in the Children’s Garden include “make-and-takes” for mom (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and CarMax are pleased to announce the CarMax Free Fourth of July at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. On July 4, all visitors to the Garden will receive free admission throughout the day (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) The free admission includes entrance to the popular Butterflies LIVE! exhibit. Activities in the Children’s Garden 1 – 4 p.m. include live music and a parade around the Children’s Garden at 2 p.m. Guests are invited to wear red, white and blue and decorate wagons and strollers.

Late Summer Lawn Party at Historic Bloemendaal

Enjoy a lazy, late summer afternoon on the lawn at Historic Bloemendaal, original home of the Lakeside Wheel Club (1895).  Under the tent, partake in an old-fashioned ice cream social and picnic fare (both available for purchase) against a nearby backdrop of ragtime music and historical bicycle displays and demonstrations.  Relax as a barbershop quartet strolls and serenades, try out a summer lawn game, and step inside the Bloemendaal House for informal tours recalling the late 19th century bicycling craze.  This family-friendly event offers a great end-of-season celebration before school resumes, amidst the abundant blooms of the Grace Arents Garden in all its late summer glory.
